Background

Attendance of the current congregations are: Cantonese 250, English 100, Mandarin 40, and children 80. There are five pastors in the team. The church is located at Epping, NSW.

C&MA Australia requirements. Applicants must agree to the C&MA Statement of Faith, be able to obtain a Ministry Licence (upon application to the C&MA), and hold a Working with Children and Vulnerable People check.

Senior Pastor (full time position)

Qualification and requirements

·      Professes the faith of Christian and Missionary Alliance

·      Received a calling to serve in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual church with Cantonese, English and Mandarin

·      Has seven years or above church ministry experience. Preference given to applicants with senior pastor experience and inter-generations ministry experience.

·      Understands and be able to assimilate into our church multi-cultural background

·      Possesses administrative and leadership skills, Able to lead a pastoral team, elder board and deacon board to achieve the church’s goals 

·      Holds a theology or divinity degree or above from a recognised evangelical seminary

·      Fluent in Cantonese and English. Able to communicate in Mandarin is highly desirable

Mandarin Pastor (full time position)

Qualification and requirements

• Professes the faith of Christian and Missionary Alliance in Australia
• Holds a Bachelor of Theology/Ministry degree, or a Master of Divinity degree or above conferred by a recognised evangelical seminary.
• Fluent in Mandarin, and able to communicate either in English or Cantonese.
• Has one- to two-year church ministry experience.
• Able to lead the Mandarin ministry team to serve the Mandarin congregation, to make disciples and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ in the local areas.
• Must be mature and committed to church ministry.

Youth Pastor (full time – willing to consider part-time for right candidate)

We plan to add an extra English service. We need a youth pastor to lead a small team to support and nurture a group of around 40 English-speaking youth. It is challenging to help these young people to know God and follow Christ in the context of Chinese tradition family values. This role is suitable for those who have the heart for young people and are willing to serve in a cross-culture mission field.

The youth pastor is held under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and English Pastor.

Candidate who needs to work part time will be considered.

Qualification and requirements

·     Must have a valid Working With Children Permit of NSW.

·     Well-developed interpersonal skills.

·     Demonstrate the ability to work with high schoolers.

·     Agreeable with the C&MA constitution including doctrinal statement.

·     Passionate to preach God’s word faithfully and truthfully to minister the English-speaking congregation.

·     Sensitive to different cultural backgrounds of the church members and the community around us.

·     Complete or in process of theological training in BTh/BMin or above.

·     Fluent English.
